"I had suffered from heel pain for months, and it had started to affect my running style, causing hip and back pain. After using the Heelfix-Kit I am now running pain free and the stiffness in the back and hip has practically disappeared in only two weeks!"

What are the best shoes for Heel Pain?

Heel Fix Kit Shoe Advice

Because certain shoes can make heel pain worse, and others are difficult if not impossible to fit insoles into, picking the right shoe is very important. Without doubt the best shoes for heel pain are training shoes. A good trainer will give you lots of space for your foot to move freely and to accommodate your Heel Fix Kit ® Insole. Lace-up shoes are generally good for the same reasons.

  • Avoid very flat shoes, especially if they are also very soft. They give your foot no protection and make it harder for your heel to lift off the ground, putting more strain onto your plantar fascia.
  • Make sure the heel of the shoe is raised compared to the forefoot area by at least 1.5cm (1/2 of an inch).
  • Avoid slip on shoes - they crush your foot to hold them on, preventing proper toe motion, and are extremely difficult to fit Heel Fix Kit ® insoles into.
  • Ladies should also avoid high-heels; especially over 5cm (2 inches), particularly narrow heels such as stilettos. They are unstable and also help to shorten your calf muscle. Wearing them often causes more heel pain the next day. If you must wear high heels for short periods (e.g. weddings/work) then may we suggest our 9 to 5 Insoles to improve your comfort level.

If you come to buy new shoes then always take your Heel Fix Kit ® Insoles with you and try fitting the insoles into them – you may need to buy slightly bigger ones from now on to achieve maximum comfort.
